Conference Table Pads

Prestige Office Accessories is pleased to offer our all natural Black Linoleum in Rectangular, Oval, Arch and Racetrack Shaped Conference Table Pads, any of which can be used to provide two separate and distinct functions, as detailed below. As is the case with our Desk Pads, these Conference Table Pads have a glare-free matte surface finish, and are suede backed which helps to cushion the conference table from the pad itself, and keep it situated in place.

Functions of the Conference Table Pad:
1.) Individual Conference Table Worksurfaces -- Our conference table pads can be placed in front of each chair at a conference table, thereby providing the same functionality as one of our all-natural linoleum desk pads, although in a smaller size. In this application, the conference pad serves to enhance the appearance of the conference table, provide a comfortable workspace for people seated at the table, and protect its surface from any potential damage that may be unintentionally caused by those same individuals. The pads are sized to fit neatly around the perimeter of most conference tables, and provide more than adequate room for those working with anything from pen and paper to a laptop computer.
2.) Food and/or Beverage Protection -- Our tablepads also offer limited area surface protection against heat, accidental spills, nicks, gouges, water stains, burns, and so on, and can be utilized as an elegant alternative to plastic or paper placemats or tablecloths. Please note however, that these conference pads were designed primarily to serve as conference seating worksurfaces. Although they do offer a degree of conference table surface protection against some of the hazards commonly caused by the serving and consumption of food and/or beverages, we suggest that you consider the use of a custom size/shape linoleum conference table pad for an even higher degree of protection. Please contact us for information on these pads, which can in most cases, be sized for both individual use, as well as for a place upon which to sit carafes and/or serving pieces, while your food and beverage service is in process.

Origin and Construction of the Linoleum Conference Table Pad:
Patented in England by Frederick Walton in 1863, the word "linoleum" is derived from the latin words, linum, which means flax, and oleum, meaning oil.
Linoleum pads have long been a favorite in the manufacturing arena, particularly in assembly operations, where their anti-static and anti-glare characteristics are highly desirable. They are now enjoying a renewed resurgence in popularity among architects, residential and commercial office designers and office workers alike, due to their inderstated elegance, comfort, and innate functionality.
Prestige Office Accessories' conference table pads are fabricated from a special type of linoleum known as furniture linoleum. This is a specifically design-oriented product, manufactured from natural, renewable raw materials - linseed oil, rosin, wood flour and pigments found in growing plants and trees.

The linoleum conference table pad is constructed in four layers:

1.) A layer of impregnated paper, or jute,
2.) The linoleum granulate itself, (this consists of oxidized linseed oil and rosin, to which wood flour and pigments have been added),
3.) A coat of varnish, and
4.) The suede backing.

The manufacturing process itself is relatively simple - a calendar is first used to roll the linoleum granulate onto the impregnated paper or jute. Once dry, the linoleum is coated with a cross-linked PU/Acrylic varnish, which minimizes the irritating effects of light reflection, providing the desired anti-glare characteristic. Following that, the linoleum is cut to the desired shape and size, and the suede backing is applied.

Applications for the Linoleum Conference Table Pad:
Linoleum Conference Table Pads can be used in the conference rooms or boardrooms of virtually any commercial, institutional, government, entertainment, etc, organization imaginable. They are as well-suited for use on conference tables in the home or residential office as they are in government conference rooms or the boardrooms of Fortune 500 companies. In addition to being ideally situated for use on wood or veneer conference tables, these pads can also be used on dinette tables, dining room tables, end tables, in window casements, on piano tops, on servers and buffet tables, and on glass, lacquer and even stone tables.
Our boardroom tablepads can be found in use in, among other places, home or residential offices, banks, investment firms, hospitals, hotels, casinos, libraries, law firms, conference centers, schools, colleges and universities, industrial facilities, commercial offices, corporate headquarters, small businesses, and in U.S. Government and Military offices and facilities worlwide.

So, Why Select a Linoleum Conference Table Pad?
Linoleum is extrememly long lasting and offers a great deal of flexibility in terms of design possibilities. Coated with a glare-free matte surface finish, the linoleum conference table pad exudes an elegant, luxurious appearance. In addition to its "natural look", linoleum's unique tactile qualities give it a warm, slightly springy surface, that make it a pleasure to touch, resulting in a comfortable, yet resilient and highly functional writing surface. Additionally, due to the fact that minor surface scratches tend to "cure" and disappear over time, linoleum is chosen by many simply for its ease of care, as well as its ability to withstand the rigors of everyday use.

In Summary, the Advantages of Linoleum Conference Table Pads are:
  • Affordability
  • Aesthetic Appeal - Glare-Free Matte Surface Finish
  • Durability
  • Biodegradeable
  • Ease of Care
  • Flexibility
  • A Natural, But Luxurious Appearance
